Spectral Variation across Pulsar Profile due to Coherent Curvature Radiation

چکیده

The pulsar profile is characterised by two distinct emission components, the core and cone. standard model of a radio beam originating from dipolar magnetic fields, places at centre surrounded concentric layers inner outer conal components. expected to have steeper spectra compared cones. We present detailed analysis relative differences in between large sample 53 pulsars over wide frequency range 100 MHz 10 GHz. was seen be much than cones particularly 1 GHz with difference spectral index $\Delta\alpha_{core/cone}\sim$ -1.0. In addition we also found components cone $\Delta\alpha_{in/out}\sim$ +0.5. flattening axis towards edge open field line region increasing curvature lines natural outcome coherent radiation charged soliton bunches, explains due relativistic beaming effect, only visible when it directed observer narrow angle $\theta\leq 1/\gamma$, where $\gamma$ Lorentz factor outflowing plasma clouds. This restricts cones, that are associated larger thereby making

Curvature radiation in pulsar magnetospheric plasma

We consider the curvature radiation of the point-like charge moving relativistically along curved magnetic field lines through a pulsar magnetospheric electron-positron plasma. We demonstrate that the radiation power is largely suppressed as compared with the vacuum case, but still at a considerable level, high enough to explain the observed pulsar luminosities. The emitted radiation is polariz...

Cherenkov-Curvature Radiation and Pulsar Radio Emission Generation

Electromagnetic processes associated with a charged particle moving in a strong circular magnetic field are considered in cylindrical coordinates. We investigate the relation between the vacuum curvature emission and Cherenkov emission and argue that, for the superluminal motion of a particle in the inhomogeneous magnetic field in a dielectric, the combined effects of magnetic field inhomogenei...

Curvature radiation and giant subpulses in the Crab pulsar

It is argued that the nanosecond giant subpulses detected recently in the Crab pulsar are generated by means of the coherent curvature radiation of charged relativistic solitons associated with sparking discharges of the inner gap potential drop above the polar cap. Beam Instability and Microbunching due to Coherent Synchrotron Radiation

A relativistic electron beam moving in a circular orbit in free space can radiate coherently if the wavelength of the synchrotron radiation exceeds the length of the bunch. In accelerators coherent radiation of the bunch is usually suppressed by the screening effect of the conducting walls of the vacuum chamber [1, 2]. The screening effect is weak for short wavelengths, but if the wavelength is...

From Pulsar Spin to Pulsar Wind: The Spectral Connection?

We present preliminary results from a systematic spectral study of pulsars and their wind nebulae using the Chandra X-Ray Observatory. The superb spatial resolution of Chandra allows us to differentiate the compact object’s spectrum from that of its surrounding nebulae. Specifically, for six Crab-like pulsars, we compare spectral fits of the averaged pulsar wind nebulae (PWN) emission to that o...
